ASSEMBLY PROGRAMS
Award winning multi-instrumentalist John Rossbach's compelling voice evokes
the many moods and magic of American folk music. His humorous improvisations
and outrageous tall tales teach how the stories, myths and legends in our
nation's songs reflect our cultural values.
John demonstrates his exceptional mastery of the mandolin, guitar and
banjo-America's most popular stringed instruments from the Civil War up to
the modern folk revival. His songs bring exciting historic adventures to life
such as the development of the railroads, the Emancipation Proclamation, and
the contributions of various European and African immigrant groups to New
York State's rich musical heritage.
LENGTH: 30-45 minutes flexible. Question and answer period optional.
